www. investigacionesanimales.Campofrío recently launched a publicity campaign to promote their products ridiculing vegetarianism and the rejection of animal products. Animal Equality/ Igualdad Animal responded with an undercover investigation into one of their farms, secretly entering on two occasions to record what they found there with graphic videos and photographs.
As part of the counter-campaign, 13 posters have also been presented, parodying Campofrio’s advertisements, and substituting their fictional publicity for real images obtained from their own farms. In addition, a video report has been produced, summarizing several hours of video footage obtained. Injured, sick, agonizing, mutilated, terrified animals… thousands of animals shut away for their whole lives, without ever seeing daylight and with severe psychological disorders. The reality of animal exploitation is not the pleasant myth portrayed in adverts which their characters and fictional situations would like us to believe. After the investigation conducted into one of their farms, presented on the website InvestigacionesAnimales. org, 16 activists from Igualdad Animal entered Campofrio’s offices with 16 bodies of dead baby pigs taken from the same farm where the investigation was carried out in a protest in favour of animal rights at the company’s headquarters. The protest consisted of three parts. First of all, 4 activists entered the company with 2 dead baby pigs and left them in the headquarters. At the same time, 12 activists displayed 14 bodies also exploited by the industry at the company entrance. After several minutes, the 12 activists also decided to enter the company with the aim of showing the workers the reality behind the advertisements, laying out the pigs in the company reception with a banner reading “The reality behind the consumption of animals. If you try it, you’ll be converted. Vegetarianism is justice”.

Several minutes later, an activist unfurled a banner from a Campofrio billboard situated only a few metres away from the company reading “Animals are not food.

Igualdad Animal have carried out this hard-hitting protest to publicise the investigation which has taken place over the last few weeks into one of Campofrio’s farms. This non-violent protest, like all those carried out by Igualdad Animal, aims to generate social debate about animal exploitation and vegetarianism.
