This is a call for action. The anti fur outreach campaign against Nicholas Ungar Furs ( SW 12th and Yamhill ) is going strong after almost 9 months! Although the campaign has been consistent, we need some help! The only thing the fur shop can do to try and stop this campaign is to give each one of us restraining orders until none of us can stand outside the fur shop. So far they have served three of us, and will probably get a fourth this monday. Besides these restraining orders being unconstitutional, they don’t mean too much. We have a team of lawyers fighting to get them overturned as we speak. Please come out and have fun with us in the name of animal rights and freedom of speech!

We need as many people as possible to come down to stand up for animal rights and stand in solidarity for the innocent beings that are tortured, caged and murdered to end up in a shop like Ungar Furs. The animals need us, and we can’t let the fur shop and the portland police stop us from using our first amendment right of freedom of speech.

“Last year, Sea Shepherd’s Swedish First Officer, Peter Hammarstedt, along with Captain Alex Cornelissen of the Netherlands, was charged with the “crime” of breaking the seal protection regulations by approaching, witnessing, and documenting the killing of a seal. In Canada, it is a crime to witness or document the killing of a seal by a licensed seal killer. Peter and Alex were each interrogated for four and a half hours. And during that time, Peter and Alex said absolutely nothing in accordance to the rule: Nobody talks, everybody walks. They also refused to sign anything in accordance to the rule, Nobody signs, everything is fine.

Peter and Alex were unable to attend their trial last month in Nova Scotia because they had been previously deported and banned for life from entering the country. As a result, the trial went ahead without them, and their bail will most likely be forfeited. By banning the two crewmembers from the country, the Canadian government was able to avoid the embarrassment of a legitimate trial with a defense. The sentence of deportation for life was given to Alex and Peter a year before the trial. We have included in the video a couple of the more humorous moments from the interrogation of Peter Hammarstedt. And remember, Peter and Alex each sat through four and a half hours of this comedy until the Mounties finally threw in the towel.

As well as butchering animals at HLS, Novartis Chairman and CEO Daniel Vasella likes to butcher animals in his own private hunting estate in Austria. He had it personally built in a town called Bach, up in the mountains. There is a large cooling unit and an area for preparing his kills, which he sometimes supplies to the local restaurant. There is also a large garage, that we guess holds the car that picks him up from the neighboring town (the rich scumbag flies in on his personal helicopter!)

You could tell it was his house from a distance – the skulls of deer we saw hanging from the walls outside and inside only made us more determined.

60 litres of petrol was concentrated in two places around the house – the roof sheltering the front entrance was packed full of petrol bombs with most of the petrol containers placed under it by the door to catch the wood inside, and around the side the wooden garage door and angled roof supports were targetted with the second group of devices.

It hasn’t been your week has it, Daniel? Understand this: This will continue until you sever all ties with Huntingdon Life Sciences. We will attack your private life wherever possible. If you think it’s fun killing animals in your own forest in Austria and bring them to your hunting estate, we will destroy it. Have you got any more hobbies Daniel? We will destroy them. “On July 24, 2009 we liberated 10 rabbits from a farm on the outskirts of Bilbao. There, animals crammed in cages awaited their death to become a product of the food industry.

Anyone who lives a life that is not completely exempt from products of animal origin is responsible for animal exploitation. In order to not be part of this bloody industry it is necessary to adopt, as a first step, a way of life that rejects speciesism and that does not use products derived from animals.

These types of actions may seem ‘insignificant’ to some people. For them there is no need to note that these are 10 individuals who feel, who have been liberated from the bars, the fencing and from the executioners who had been bringing an end to his or her life: the slaughterer and the consumer.
